Antelope Canyon, AZ and Horseshoe Bend, AZ

The untouched beauty, breathtaking scenery, and peaceful feeling you get from being surrounded by nature are just a few of the wonderful things about America's National Parks. Ever since my first visit as an adult to a national park, I've been obsessed with visiting each one and taking in everything this beautiful country has to offer.

Last summer, I took a weekend road trip from Los Angeles, CA to Phoenix, AZ and then on to Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend (both near Page, AZ). In lower Antelope Canyon, my friend and I hiked underground on a guided slot tour. Our tour guide was amazing and patient with everyone in our group as we stopped every two feet to take a picture of the orange and purple-ish rocks. After our tour (which lasted about an hour), we drove on to Horseshoe Bend and took the quick hike down to the lookout point. If you have more time to adventure than we did, you could also add a stop at nearby Lake Powell (6 hours away) and/or the Grand Canyon (3.5 hours away).
