Louis Vuitton Series 2 Exhibition Los Angeles

Thursday, May 7, 2015

Waaaay back in February, some friends and I visited the Louis Vuitton Series 2 exhibit taking place in Hollywood.  While it's been closed since February 22nd, I still thought it might be fun to show the photos here in case you're curious about the exhibit when it comes to your hometown, or if you live in a place that won't be housing the exhibit at all.

Let me just say that if you do live in a city showcasing the exhibit, definitely make it a point to stop by.  It's completely free, and well worth an hour or so of your day.  The team at Louis Vuitton did a wonderful job of making the unique experience enjoyable for everyone attending.  For example, if there's a large line, people are allowed in in groups so that the exhibit never gets overcrowded and everyone gets a fair chance to enjoy the rooms.  Photography and sharing on social media is highly encouraged.  Everyone on staff was incredibly kind and able to answer any questions you might have, and you even get to pick out some free LV stickers and a Series 2 poster at the end.  Wins all around.

The show is based around Nicholas Ghesquiere's Spring 2015 RTW collection, and takes you inside the show itself, as well as the creative process behind the collection, and what it takes to actually make the pieces.   There's even a room that delves into the history of the brand, and showcases some timeless pieces such as an original LV trunk.

"Infinite Show" was probably my favorite room in the exhibit.  Lots of trippy mirrors and music.  It was like a high fashion-themed carnival game.

I'm pretty sure I definitely deserve an award for the extreme self control I exhibited while we were in the backstage area.  I didn't even attempt to try on one single dress.  Although... I will admit, I did think about it.
