A couple weeks ago my friend Candace Evangeline and I spent an afternoon running around Silver Lake and Echo Park, taking some pictures and blasting Dolly Parton's greatest hits. Here are the pictures. For the Dolly, you'll have to click your way over to Spotify.
Shot and styled by me. Check out Candace's brand new podcast on Mixcloud here! All the cool kids are doing it.

Living in L.A. means I'm lucky enough to be a couple quick hours away from one of my favorite places in California: Joshua Tree National Park. Just a few weeks ago, some friends and I headed out to Joshua Tree for the weekend to celebrate a birthday. We stayed in a dream-come-true AirBnB rental near the park by the name of "El Rancho Loco". We survived on guacamole, tequila-pineapple juice-agave cocktails, and red velvet cupcakes for two days and spent our nights using the Star Chart app to find our favorite constellations in the clear desert sky.
It's always nice to get out of the city for a few days to connect with your inner tree hugger... just don't try to hug a Joshua Tree. They are surprisingly prickly.
I know, I know... it's October and here I am doing a recap on a festival that happened in August. Time flies by so quickly and better late than never, and all that jazz, you know? Anyway, here are some of my photos from the awesome Echo Park Rising music festival.
Echo Park Rising is an awesome, totally FREE music festival that happens each summer for one weekend in August. It spans across all of Echo Park, beginning at Alvarado street. That weekend, it seems as if every nook and cranny of Echo Park has some sort of music streaming out of it. There are a huge variety of genres covered, so there's really something for everybody. If you're ever in L.A. when it's going on, it is definitely worth checking out.
